Welcome to my blog!
I'm Rachel, I'm 27 and I live in London. The most important thing to know about me is that I'm not green fingered. I've never kept a plant alive in my life (and I've tried). The only plant life in my house comes from cut flowers from the supermarket.
Still, I've got dreams of the good life - a country house, dogs, chickens (in that order) and plenty of home grown fruit, veg and salad. So as I'm nowhere near a country house, I'd better get started on the planting.
I recently moved in with my boyfriend and something momentous has happened. We bought some dill and basil from Morrisons, and 3 months later they are still alive. In fact, they're thriving. This, of course, has nothing at all to do with me and everything to do with him, but still, things are living with me around. It's a start. There's obviously some talent for growing things in our house.
So, it's spring and it seems as good time as any to see if I can grow something, anything, and see what happens. This blog is to track my progress - it's successes, failures, crops (or otherwise). I'd love to get tips from other gardeners and I hope it provides you some inspiration, and a few laughs along the way. Wish me luck!
